Do you ever wonder if there is a different way to practice law? Are you looking for ways to better understand yourself and others? It is never too late to make changes!

Join us for a unique 2-part program that will introduce you to mindfulness and help you develop tools to build a balanced law practice.

Session 1: Mindfulness and Discovering your Authentic Self

  • This session will begin with an introduction to mindfulness and its benefits.
  • What is mindfulness and how can it help create an understanding of ourselves and others?
  • With reference to the national report on lawyer mental health and wellness, we will discuss how mindfulness practices and an understanding of self can address concerns related to lawyer well being.
  • The primary focus of the session will be on understanding who you are, why you became a lawyer and what motivates you.
  • The session will also include mindfulness practices and stretches that can be easily incorporated into your workday and life.
  • There will be time for group discussion and questions.

Session 2: How Can We Mindfully Manage our Life and Law Practice?

  • This session will follow up on questions raised during the last session and explore how a deeper understanding of self can lead to a more purposeful and rewarding law practice.
  • Can you be your authentic self at work? Can you create a law practice that is consistent with who you are AND is financially stable? How can you mindfully manage deadlines?
  • This session will also include a discussion on how to implement changes and set boundaries with colleagues, clients, and situations that are draining your time and energy.
  • There will be a 5-minute guided meditation.
  • We will provide takeaway practices and time for discussion.

These sessions are for anyone interested in looking to improve their well being through learning about mindfulness, wanting to explore mindfulness practices, and/or looking to add new tools to their wellness toolkit.
